Hi everyone!  So first, I want to talk about a new release from my publishing company again.

If you haven’t seen the announcements, Engineering Ludus by Steve Keiler has launched.  This is a book by another author set on Ludus during the same time frame that Henry and Jason are there.  It’s a fun book, and I urge you to get if a try if you haven’t already.  You can find the blog post about the release right here:  link to blog post

Okay, so let’s talk about my WIP.  I want to get this out of the way.  While I hate fessing up to stuff like this, I think it’s important that I stay honest with myself and with my readers.  As many of you reading this will know, I promised everyone I’d be done with and publishing Delvers LLC 5 early this year (2021).  This obviously has not happened.

I’m not going to bullshit you, the main reason it didn’t happen was because of seasonal depression.  Writing is a deeply personal sort of job and it’s different for everyone.  During the winter months, it gets harder for me to create, and I can just stare at the computer screen for hours only to realize I haven’t gotten anything done.  It’s frustrating as hell.  Trust me.  I get that you all are waiting for books, but imagine what it’s like to be me.  Writing is my livelihood.  If I’m not writing, I’m not getting paid.

And 2020 was not a fun year for me.  I realize it wasn’t a great year for much of anyone except Amazon, but it creatively drained me.  I feel like I’m still recovering.

So while I don’t expect everyone to understand, all I can do is ask that you be patient with me.  Delvers LLC 5 is still coming, and it’s still going to be big.  In fact, now that I’ve already made a liar of myself and missed my deadline, I plan to spend all the time I need on it to make it the book it needs to be.

I am proud of Delvers LLC 4, but I wish I’d had more time to add some word count to it.

Whew.

Alright, I’m glad that’s out of the way. Let’s talk about some changes I’ve been making.  Now I am actually putting out email list announcements for new books that come out, mainly because Amazon is terrible at it.  I love Amazon, but the company can be frustrating for indie authors sometimes.  The sensation feels a lot like being a tiny little shrimp riding around on the back of a huge whale that is going to do whatever the hell it wants to do.  Metaphors aside, Amazon doesn’t usually tell readers I have new books out in a timely manner, so a mailing list is very important.

Now we have our second to last topic:  Trojan Nighmare (Jake’s Story).

I’ve recently returned to Royal Road and I’ve begun posting the story I’ve been writing in my free time, Trojan Nightmare (Jake’s Story).  This is a story about an adventurer in post-apocalpyse America who experiences something absolutely horrible happening to him and most everyone he knows, but then gets a chance to fix everything.  Of note is also the fact that he is a trained mage, but gave up all of his mana in order to pursue the path of cultivation.

The story has a lot of twists and turns.  I’m very proud of it, and other authors have told me it’s one of the best things I’ve ever written so far.

On Royal Road, the story has been out for less than a month and has already exceeded 700 followers.  It’s possible that Jake’s Story might reach 1000 followers in one month!  This would be awesome!

All of the attention that Trojan Nightmare is getting has been motivating me to write the story more.  So during free time that I might otherwise be using to read or play Wazhack, I might end up writing Jake’s Story instead.

If you want to give it a shot, the link is here:  Jake’s Story.  I will always have at least one chapter in advance on my Patreon page.

….Annnnd, last but not least, what most of you have probably just scrolled to see…this is the reveal for the Delvers LLC 5 cover.

Taa daa!  Hostile Takeover.

Hostile Takeover Coming Soon

Now I need to get back to writing, but I hope to be putting up another blog post soon about a book being done.  *crosses fingers*
